Due to the difficulty of this task, for the last few decades, the majority of AI researchers have focused on what has been called \u201cnarrow AI\u201d \u2013 the production of AI systems displaying intelligence regarding specific, highly constrained tasks.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>In recent years, <\/strong>however&#8230;<\/h6>\n<p>&#8230;more and more researchers have recognized the necessity \u2013 and feasibility \u2013 of returning to the original goals of the field by treating intelligence as a whole. Increasingly, there is a call for a transition back to confronting the more difficult issues of \u201chuman-level intelligence\u201d and more broadly artificial general intelligence.
