First, existing knowledge of human psychology could be applied to WBE, allowing advance\u00a0preparation in the selection of candidates for brain emulation and the\u00a0use of mechanism design to create incentive compatible institutions\u00a0for WBE. Second, WBEs, as software, could be run at high speeds and\u00a0with multiple copies, reducing the challenges of monitoring the\u00a0activities of subsequent, less humanlike, AGI generations. Third, WBEs\u00a0operating at high subjective speeds would enjoy a much greater\u00a0abundance of researcher thinking per unit of computational power,\u00a0favoring substitution of deep theoretical understanding for &#8216;brute\u00a0force&#8217; hardware-intensive approaches in subsequent AGI design.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Can Whole Brain Emulation help us build safe AGI?
