A good sense of the overall nature of the conference may be found via perusing <a href=\"http:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2009\">agi-conf.org\/2009<\/a>, the website of last year\u2019s AGI conference, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2010\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/AGI_10_Preliminary_CFP_v10-21.pdf\">preliminary call for papers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2010\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/AGI_10_Poster_v15.pdf\">main conference poster<\/a> shows AGI&#8217;s mission and key information.<\/p>\n<p><b>Paper Submissions to AGI-10 are now CLOSED.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Please <a href=\"https:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2010\/contacts\/\">contact AGI<\/a> with any questions.  Acceptance notifications have been sent; please email if you have not received your notification.<\/p>\n<p>All accepted papers are required to have at least one registered author per paper.  Multiple papers require multiple registrations.  <a href=\"https:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2010\/registration\/\">AGI Registration Page<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Submissions for <a href=\"https:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2010\/workshops\/\">demonstrations, tutorials, or workshops<\/a> at the conference are still open, so please submit any proposals to that page.  All <a href=\"https:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2010\/workshops\/#AGI%20Machines\">AGI demonstration submissions<\/a> must be in by 15 January 2010; <a href=\"https:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2010\/workshops\/#Tutorials\">tutorial<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2010\/workshops\/#AGI%20IQ\">workshop<\/a> submissions are due by 15 February 2010.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">Conference Mission<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Continuing the mission of the highly successful <em>First and Second AGI Conferences<\/em>, AGI-10 will gather an international group of leading academic and industry researchers involved in serious scientific and engineering work aimed directly toward the goal of artificial general intelligence.  This is the only major conference series devoted wholly and specifically to the creation of AI systems possessing general intelligence at the human level and ultimately beyond. Due to the difficulty of this task, for the last few decades the majority of AI researchers have focused on what has been called \u201cnarrow AI\u201d \u2013 the production of AI systems displaying intelligence regarding specific, highly constrained tasks.<br \/>\nIn recent years, however, more and more researchers have recognized the necessity \u2013 and feasibility \u2013 of returning to the original goals of the field. Increasingly, there is a call for a transition back to confronting the more difficult issues of \u201chuman level intelligence\u201d and more broadly \u201cartificial general intelligence (AGI).\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 100%;\">Paper Submissions<\/span><br \/>\n<span> <\/span><\/h2>\n<h2>Submitting<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Submissions should be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.easychair.org\/login.cgi?conf=agi10\" target=\"_blank\">submitted electronically to EasyChair<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/webmail.nicta.com.au\/owa\/redir.aspx?C=b0aa3e9815bb4b40a5758b06a716f64b&amp;URL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.easychair.org%2fconferences%3fconf%3dagi09\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a>(you may need to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.easychair.org\/conferences\/account_apply.cgi?iid=\" target=\"_blank\">Create an EasyChair Account<\/a> first).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Whether an accepted paper (either full-length or short position statement) will be presented as a talk or as a poster will be determined by the Program Committee, in part based on paper quality as assessed by the anonymous reviewers, and in part according to the extent the paper addresses a topic of core interest to the AGI community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">The acceptance of a paper is based on the assumption that one of the authors will attend the conference to present the paper. Any questions can be directed to one of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/agi-conf.org\/2010\/contacts\/\" target=\"_blank\">conference chairs<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Formatting<\/h2>\n<p>AGI-10 will accept two types of submissions: full-length papers (6 pages) and short position statements (2 pages).
